Tour Highlights:

• Convenient Pick-up: We offer pick-up from Paranthan Bus Stand or any hotel in Kilinochchi.
  • Note: Pick-up & drop-off from Jaffna Hotels incurs an extra charge of US$50 or LKR 15,000.

Morning Session:

• (After Flamingo Season ends – full day trip to Mullaitivu (Mangulam, olumadu …..)

• 5:30 AM: Sunrise & Bird Watching at Vannerikkulam
  • Begin your day with the breathtaking spectacle of a sunrise over Vannerikkulam, a prime location for observing various bird species as they awaken.
• 9:30 AM: Snacks and Drinks
  • Recharge with a refreshing break amidst nature.
• 10:00 AM to 12:45 PM: Jeyapuram Exploration
  • Continue your birding adventure in the scenic Jeyapuram area, known for its diverse avian population.

Afternoon Session:

• 02:00 PM: Lunch at Kilinochchi
  • Enjoy a delicious lunch in Kilinochchi, savoring local flavors.
• 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM: Seasonal Bird Watching at Kalmadu or Murasumoddai (September – December)
  • Depending on the season, explore the Kalmadu or Murasumoddai areas, renowned for their migratory and resident bird populations.
• 04:00 PM: Snacks and Drinks
  • Another opportunity to enjoy light refreshments.

Day 2 Special Flamingo & Forest Birding:

For tours conducted between June and September, we offer a specialized itinerary focused on unique sightings:

• (After Flamingo Season ends – full day trip to Mullaitivu (Mangulam, olumadu …..)

• 5:30 AM to 10:00 AM: Sunrise with Flamingos (June to Augest) (Possible Sites: Elephant Pass and more)
  • Witness the awe-inspiring sight of Flamingos against the sunrise backdrop in areas like Elephant Pass. Should Flamingos be elusive, alternate sites will be arranged to view other common seabirds, ducks, and sea eagles.

• 10:00 AM: Snacks and Drinks
• 10:45 AM to 12:45 PM: Mankulam or Olumadu Birding
  • Delve into the lush environments of Mankulam or Olumadu, famous for a remarkable variety of forest birds, including:
    • Monarch, Changeable Hawk-Eagle, Dwarf Kingfisher, Bar-winged Flycatcher, Yellow Minivet, Rocket Drongo, Indian Flycatcher, Shama, Dark-fronted Babbler, Black-headed Bulbul, Drongo Cuckoo, Indian Cuckoo, Snake Eagle, Tickell’s Blue Flycatcher, Hornbill, White-browed Fantail, White-rumped Munia, Velvet-fronted Nuthatch, Woodpeckers, Small Minivet, Black Hetcher, and the elusive Grizzled Giant Squirrel.

• 01:00 PM to 1:30 PM: Lunch
• 02:45 PM: Mathavalasingham Kulam Exploration
  • Discover the wildlife at Mathavalasingham Kulam, where you might spot:
    • Alexanderine Parakeet, Purple-faced Leaf Monkey, Golden-fronted Leaf Bird, Nightjar, and Sea Eagles.
  • Special Note: Between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM, within this time, you may have the opportunity to observe Monarch birds bathing.
• 3:15 PM: Snacks and Drinks

Evening:

• Hotel Accommodation & Dinner: Enjoy comfortable 3-star hotel accommodation in Kilinochchi, followed by a delicious dinner, allowing you to relax after a day of exploration.
• 07:00 PM: Drop at Paranthan Bus Stand or Kilinochchi Hotels
